3D modeling


3D modeling is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of object via specialized software. The product is called a 3D model. It can be displayed as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering or used in a computer simulation of physical phenomena. The model can also be physically created using 3D printing devices.

New concepts in 3D modeling have started to emerge such as curve-controlled modeling that emphasizes the modeling of the movement of a 3D object instead of the traditional modeling of the static shape.

3D models represent a 3D object using a collection of points in 3D space, connected by various geometric entities such as triangles, lines, curved surfaces, etc. Being a collection of data (points and other information), 3D models can be created by hand, algorithmically (procedural modeling), or scanned.


  • All attendees should be experienced basic HTML.


  • It is a 20 days program and extends up to 2hrs each.
  • The format is 20% theory, 80% Hands-on.

  • Analyze multiple axes geometric representation of a three dimensional image.
  • Construct simple geometric shapes in X, Y, and Z axes using computer animation software.
  • Construct organic shapes using Spline-based curves.
  • Construct multiple complex models.
  • Quantify grid size to establish perspective views.
  • Apply natural conditions in developing surface treatment.
  • Observe and explain differences between natural light and artificial light.
  • Evaluate the effect of light in various surface treatments.
  • Apply various lighting techniques to create a desired mood in computer animation.
  • Create a 3D Model.
  • Transform a 3D Model over time.
  • Apply the concepts of 2D design and integrate the added aspects of multi-dimensional space.
  • Integrate the basic visual elements of design (light, shape, texture, and color) into the complexity of three-dimensional space.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of unity, variety, contrast, dominance, appropriateness, balance, and harmony to three-dimensional space.
  • Place a camera into a 3D environment to define the desired perspective viewing of the model.
  • Create and apply materials to the model to define its color and texture.
  • Generate a rendering of a 3D Model.
