AZ-700 is Microsoft’s certification exam for Azure Network Engineers. It validates skills required to design, implement, and maintain Azure networking solutions, including hybrid connectivity, routing, security, and network performance optimization.
- Design and implement core and hybrid networking in Azure (VNet peering, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute).
- Implement connectivity solutions (VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall).
- Design and configure routing (UDR, BGP, route preference, route filters).
- Implement network security (NSGs, Azure Firewall, DDoS protection).
- Implement load balancing and application delivery (Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Front Door).
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity using Network Watcher, Azure Monitor, and diagnostics.
- Implement Azure Private Link, service endpoints, and DNS solutions for private access.
- Recommended background: Experience in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, or system administration.
- Familiarity with Azure fundamentals (recommended AZ-900) and Azure administration (AZ-104) is helpful but not mandatory.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and basic security concepts.
- Hands-on experience with command-line tools and cloud portals will accelerate learning.
- Design and implement Azure VNets, peering, and hybrid connectivity.
- Configure VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute circuits, and Virtual WAN hubs.
- Implement routing with BGP, UDRs, and route tables for complex topologies.
- Deploy and manage Azure Firewall, NSGs, and DDoS protection.
- Implement load balancing and application delivery using LB, App Gateway, and Front Door.
- Monitor, log, and troubleshoot networking using Azure Network Watcher and Monitor.
- Plan secure and scalable network architectures for enterprise and hybrid scenarios.
